To make parking easier and more affordable for everyone -- and to encourage visitors to park in one of the four city-owned parking decks -- a new rate structure for the decks begins Oct. 1.
Gone is the flat fee after 5:00 pm. Motorists will now have to pay 75 cents per hour with the FIRST TWO HOUR FREE AROUND THE CLOCK.
Two hours of free parking throughout the day and into the evening has long been a desire of residents and visitors, especially those who frequent the Royal Oak Public Library in the evening.
For those customers that stay longer than two hours, you can continue to use the Pay Stations located in the elevator lobbies to pay with cash or credit. You may also pay at the exit with a credit card only.
The city-owned parking decks are located on Center Street, 11 Mile Road and there are two on Lafayette -- one north of Fourth St. and the other at Sixth St.
