Royal Oak's Salter Community Center (1545 E Lincoln) is open as a warming shelter for residents who have lost power.
Bottled water and blankets, provided by DTE, are available but residents planning to stay overnight may want to bring sleeping bags or other blankets/pillows from home to be more comfortable.
The plan is to have this facility open 24-hours through Sunday, March 12 -- or as needed. This is important: A staff member will be at the facility until 10:30 p.m. If no one arrives to use the warming center, the facility will be locked and reopen again in the morning.
DOWNED WIRES
SAFETY is paramount – if you see a downed wire AVOID the area entirely, if you see caution tape AVOID the area and DO NOT cross caution tape.
DOWNED BRANCHES
Small branches can be placed out with regular trash. Regular yard waste pick up will start March 27. Please refer to the the city's website for more guidelines at https://www.romi.gov/340/Yard-Waste.
