The city-owned surface parking lot along Second Street between Center Street and Washington Avenue is closed ti make way for a 521-space parking structure
Through the end of July, the contractor (Colasanti) will begin receiving precast pieces to assemble the parking structure. There will be numerous over-sized tractor trailers conducting daily deliveries to the job site for the next six weeks. Pedestrians and motorists should exercise caution and accommodate the over-sized tractor trailers in their effort to deliver to the job site. Tractor trailers will be utilizing the vacant property at I-696 / Main St / Washington Ave as a temporary, daily staging location. Tractor trailers may also stage for very short periods of time in front of Holiday Market. Their main routes will utilize northbound and southbound Main Street. Tractor trailers will enter the job site from W Second Street and exit westward to northbound S Washington Ave.
Visitors to the post office and surrounding businesses are encouraged to park in the Center Street parking deck where parking is free for two hours if you arrive before 5 p.m.
