FEBRUARY: 2024:



Royal Oak Musicale Music Program will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 1314 Northwood Blvd. in Royal Oak.   Featured will be Winthrop Winds, Woodwind Quintet, and the Meadowbrook Winds Trio

 

MARCH: 2024:


A Nature Society “These are Mushrooms, Too: Fungi Without Gills” speaker program will be held on Thursday, March 7th, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Royal Oak Historical Museum (1411 W. Webster, just west of Crooks).  Join Mary Fredricks as she covers morels, cup fungi, stinkhorns, and many others.  There is no cost & registration is not required.  

 

The Royal Oak Historical Society presents “How the Ice Age Shaped Royal Oak” on Friday, March 8th.  Click here for more information.

Blessings In a Backpack will do a Trivia Fundraiser on Friday, April 12th at the Royal Oak Elks Club.  

A Nature Society “Spring Wildflower Walk” is being held at Tenhave Woods on Sunday, April 14th beginning at 2:00 pm.  We will be looking for Red & White Trillium, blue & yellow violets, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, Bloodroot, Trout Lily, Wild Geranium, Spice Bush, Spring Beauty, Wood Poppy, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, & Wood Anemone and more.  Park at the Marais/Lexington lot & meet at the Lexington entrance.  There is no cost & registration is not required.  Please click here for more nature walk information.

A Nature Society “Mushroom Walk” will take place on Saturday, April 27th at Tenhave Woods beginning at 10:00 am.  Park at the Marais/Lexington lot & meet at the Lexington entrance.  Mary Fredricks, a member and botanist/mycologist of the Royal Oak Nature Society, will lead the walks.  Anyone with an interest in learning more about mushrooms and other fungi of the urban woods is welcome.  There is no registration or cost for these mushroom walks.  Please click here for more nature walk information.
