The City of Royal Oak and Oakland County Parks and Recreation invite residents to a grand opening celebration at Normandy Oaks Park in Royal Oak at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10. Oakland County and Royal Oak officials will make brief remarks at 10 a.m. The public is invited to attend and to enjoy fun family activities at the park from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., including a climbing tower provided by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.

Normandy Oaks is a 40-acre park located on the former Normandy Oaks golf course in Royal Oak, near Crooks and Normandy roads. The park, which was designed with community input, has a splash pad, pavilion and restroom building, soccer field, paved and natural surface trails and a new playground.

One of the first successful art fairs in Southeast Michigan art scene, 2021 marks the Royal Oak Art Fair's 50th anniversary. The proud passion of the artists and artisans displayed among the soft rolling hills of Memorial Park brings raves from art buyers and appreciative fans as well as professional and amateur art lovers. The beautiful tree-lined park setting allows both artists and guests from around the country to casually stroll through the displays while staying protected from the sun. Pull up a chair and enjoy the quality entertainment provided to our show visitors at no charge.
