Application for Use of the Friends Auditorium

  1. 49 people maximum.

  2. Is the event open to the public?*
  3. Please start your reservation early, to give yourself time to set up the room. You must also end your meeting early enough to return the space to its original condition and to have everyone out of the building by closing. Library staff are not able to assist with moving furniture.  

  4. Library Hours:

    Monday through Thursday: 9:00am-8:00pm
    Friday & Saturday: 9:00am-6:00pm
    Sunday: 1pm-5pm (Labor Day through Memorial Day)

  5. The auditorium seats 49 theater style, 20 classroom style. It contains a granite counter with sink. Refreshments are allowed, but you must provide your own consumables. Hourly rate for the auditorium begins with setup preparations and ends when all participants have left the room. Reservations are a minimum of 2 hours.

    • DVD/VHS Player
  7. Fees:

    Non-Profit: 2 hours or less $50; $25/hour thereafter
    For-Profit:   2 hours or less $100; $50/hour thereafter 

  8. If yes, please supply proof of non-profit status, either a 501 (c) (30) certificate or State of Michigan Non-profit Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.

  9. We suggest that the person reserving the auditorium inspect the space and test their technology prior to the date of the meeting.

    Please sign below to indicate that you understand your responsibilities in using this library facility as indicated in the Meeting Room Policy 3.10. Signing this application signifies you have read and understood Meeting Room Policy 3.10.

  10. Submitting an application does not guarantee use of the auditorium. Staff determines final approval. The ROPL reserves the right to cancel auditorium reservations for any reason. Please call (248) 246-3711 for rental confirmation and any questions.

  11. Note:

    We do not supply laptops, cords or any peripherals. We only provide a projector and screen. We STRONGLY SUGGEST verifying that your equipment is compatible with our Audio/Video setup. Your laptop will need a VGA or HDMI port, AirPlay or an appropriate converter to interface with our projector.

    Payment is due with return of reservation form. Payment confirms the reservation. Make checks payable to Royal Oak Public Library and send them (or drop them off) with your completed and signed application to the address below. Cash and major credit cards are accepted.
