Volunteer At the Market

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

More Dates have been added! We need volunteers to help answer questions about our composting program and sustainability on Saturday mornings at the farmers market.  It is a fun way to get to know your neighbors and help keep food scraps out of landfills. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP.

Fryer Oil Collection Dec. 21 and Dec. 28.

FRYER OIL RECYCLING - Saturday, Dec  21 and 28 from 7 am-1 pm

With the holidays comes an influx of cooking and fryer oil. To prevent these items from going into the landfill or down the drain, Royal Oak Sustainability will offer  Fryer Oil Drop-off on the last two Saturdays of 2024.

Royal Oak Sustainability will have a special oil dumpster on site to recycle cooking oils. We can accept all types of "plant-based" oils, including vegetable, corn, peanut, olive, etc. Items like bacon fat, grease, and fried food remnants can go into the composting bins but not the oil dumpster. Cooking oils need to be in liquid form and filtered to remove contaminants.
