2023 Construction Project Map available now!

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2306 Rochester Road

This week the contractor will be removing and replacing the second halves of the intersections at Houstonia, Detroit, Girard and Lawrence. They will be working on sidewalks and finishing up the rain gardens. The contractor also plans on milling the west half of the roadway later in the week.

Turn Restrictions and Closures:

Left turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic at 12 Mile Road, Girard Avenue and at 13 Mile Road during construction to avoid backups. Northbound Rochester Road will be completely closed between Gardenia Avenue and Dewey Street. Local access to the Oakview Cemetery and Rite Aid will remain open.

CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Normandy Road:

The contractor has paved the first layer of asphalt and this week plans to work on the pedestrian crossing islands, remaining concrete work and finishing up landscaping. Once these items are complete, they will pave the final layer of asphalt, tentatively schedule for the end of next week.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

CAP2310 Water Main Improvements

Houstonia

The contractor has completed water main installation and testing. This week the contractor will finish working on connecting the new water main to the existing system and complete some minor sewer structure repairs. Once complete, they will begin connecting residents' individual water services to the new water main, including replacing any lead or galvanized water service lines, starting at Beechwood and working east.

Once all this work is complete, restoration will begin on the road, sidewalks and landscaping.

Longfellow & Sixth Street

These two streets are mostly complete, with minor punch list items to be finished over the next couple weeks.

CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing

All project streets have now been paved.

The contractor will be finishing minor landscape restoration, punch list items and sprinkler repairs over the next few weeks.

CAP2335 Road Reconstruction

Parkdale (Rochester to Ardmore)

The contractor has poured the roadway pavement and will begin work on prepping and forming the driveway approaches for new concrete.

Brockton & Seventh

The remaining driveway approaches have been poured and the contractor will be working on remaining landscape restoration.

Fairgrove (Special Assessment)

The contractor has poured the roadway pavement and will begin work on prepping and forming the driveway approaches for new concrete.
