CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue:

The contractor has completed paving and only minor landscaping work is remaining on these two streets.

Normandy Road:

The contractor has completed the new water main installation and is now connecting it to the existing system. There will be a few water shut-offs throughout the week and any residents affected will be notified the day beforehand with a doorhanger stating the approximate duration.

The pavement contractor tentatively plans to begin removing roadway pavement later this week starting near Coolidge and working east.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

Concrete work is substantially complete on this project. Only minor landscape restoration work remains.

The contractor also plans to install the speed humps on Buckingham this week, weather permitting.

CAP2310 Water Main Improvements

Longfellow

The contractor will be grading and prepping the roadway for paving, which is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday this week.

Sixth Street

The contractor is prepping and forming for concrete restoration work for the driveways, approaches, curb and gutter on the south side of the roadway.

Houstonia

The contractor has begun prepping to begin work, mobilizing materials to the block, doing pavement markings and advanced saw-cutting. Construction is scheduled to begin mid-August.

CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing

The project streets shown in purple on the project map have been divided into three phases as shown below.

Phase 1

Lawn restoration will continue this week of Phase 1 streets and some concrete repairs will be performed.

Phase 2

On Phase 2 streets, the contractor will adjusting drainage structures for the final roadway height and begin lawn restoration. Once complete the final layer of asphalt will be scheduled to pave.

Phase 3

On Wellesley, the contractor will be pouring new concrete on the west side for the curbing and driveway approaches.

On Tufts, the contractor plans to finish work on replacing curbing and driveway approaches this week.

On S. Wilson, the contractor will switch to the west side of the roadway replacing curbing and driveway approaches once the east side concrete finishes curing.

On S. Edison, the contractor plans to switch sides and start replacing curbing and driveway approaches on the west side of the roadway later this week.

CAP2335 Road Reconstruction

Parkdale (Rochester to Ardmore)

The contractor is grading and prepping the roadway for new pavement this week between Ardmore and Red Run Court.

E. Hudson

The contractor will continue working on remaining lawn restoration this week.

Houstonia

The contractor will continue working on remaining lawn restoration this week.

Helene

The contractor will be pouring the new concrete for the driveway approaches this week.

Brockton

The contractor will be working on cleanup and backfilling behind the new curbs on the east side of the roadway this week. Once the road is re-opened at Stephenson, the contractor will begin removals on the west half of the block.

Parking: The school is allowing residents to use the parking lot off Brockton during construction. Some spaces will be marked for school use only but the remaining spaces are available to residents to park during construction.

Seventh

The contractor is working on the second section of roadway this week, prepping and grading for new pavement.

Ferris

The new roadway pavement is poured and curing this week. The contractor will work on backfilling behind the curbs in the meantime.

CAP2302 Sidewalk Program

The contractor has completed the main sidewalk production work. They have started asphalt repairs and sprinkler repairs. The landscaping crew is continuing work on backfilling and lawn restoration throughout the neighborhood.

RCOC Roundabout
Greenfield & Normandy 

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has begun the installation of a roundabout at the intersection of Greenfield Road and Normandy Road. The intersection is closed to traffic for the duration of construction.

Side streets are closed at Greenfield near Normandy Road to help reduce cut-thru traffic.
