CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue:

The contractor has completed paving and will continue lawn restoration work this week and schedule final pavement markings.

Normandy Road:

The contractor has completed the new water main installation and connections, and will begin to transfer individual water services to the new main this week. Residents will be notified in advance if their water will be shut off temporarily for the transfer.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

Concrete work is substantially complete on this project. This week the contractor will be working on lawn restoration.

The contractor also plans to begin work on installing the speed humps on Buckingham this week, weather permitting.

CAP2310 Water Main Improvements

Longfellow

The contractor will be grading and prepping the roadway for paving, which is tentatively scheduled for the week of July 31st.

Sixth Street

This week the contractor will finish transferring individual water services to the new water main. Once complete they will begin prepping for concrete restoration work for the approaches, curb and gutter on the south side of the roadway.

Houstonia

The contractor has tentatively scheduled work to begin on this street the second week of August.

CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing

The project streets shown in purple on the project map have been divided into three phases as shown below.

Phase 1

Lawn restoration will continue this week of Phase 1 streets. A portion of Forest still remains to be paved.

Phase 2

On Phase 2 streets, the contractor will be milling the roadways beginning on Tuesday this week, with the first layer of asphalt paving to follow.

Phase 3

On Wellesley, the contractor has completed the east side and will be switching to the west side this week replacing curbing and driveway approaches.

On Tufts, the contractor plans to work on replacing curbing and driveway approaches this week.

On S. Wilson, the contractor is working on the east side of the roadway, replacing curbing and driveway approaches.

On S. Edison, the contractor plans to start replacing curbing and driveway approaches on the east side of the roadway this week.

CAP2335 Road Reconstruction

Parkdale (Rochester to Ardmore)

The contractor plans to begin work starting on Tuesday working between Ardmore and Red Run Court.

There is a meeting tonight (Monday) at 6pm at the corner of Red Run Ct and Parkdale where staff and the contractor will discuss the project details with residents and answer any questions.

E. Hudson

The contractor will continue working on lawn restoration this week.

Houstonia

The contractor will continue working on lawn restoration this week.

Helene

The contractor will be pouring the new concrete for the driveway approaches this week.

Brockton

The contractor will be pouring the new concrete for the driveway approaches this week on the first half of the roadway.

Parking: The school is allowing residents to use the parking lot off Brockton during construction. Some spaces will be marked for school use only but the remaining spaces are available to residents to park during construction.

Seventh

The new concrete is curing this week. Once complete the contractor will begin on the next section of roadway.

Ferris

The contractor is pouring new roadway pavement this week beginning Tuesday.

CAP2302 Sidewalk Program

The contractor is finishing up sidewalk work this week. Once complete they will begin asphalt repairs and sprinkler repairs. The landscaping crew is continuing work on backfilling and lawn restoration throughout the week.

If you disagree with the estimate for sidewalk replacement adjacent to your home, you can call the engineering office to schedule an appointment to meet with the inspector for the project and review the sidewalk work.

RCOC Roundabout
Greenfield & Normandy 

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has begun the installation of a roundabout at the intersection of Greenfield Road and Normandy Road. The intersection is closed to traffic for the duration of construction.

Side streets are closed at Greenfield near Normandy Road to help reduce cut-thru traffic.
