CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing
The project streets shown in purple on the project map have been divided into three phases as shown below.
Lawn restoration will begin this week of Phase 1 streets.
On Hawthorn, paving between Oakmount and Alexander was on hold for sewer investigations. This week the city found no repairs to be needed and paving will be rescheduled to be done during the next paving session.
On Forest, sewer deficiencies were found repairs need to be performed. This work has been scheduled to begin this week. Materials will be delivered Monday and Tuesday, with work beginning on Tuesday or Wednesday, weather dependent.
During the sewer work, Forest will be completely closed from Alexander to house #524/527, and residents within this section will not have access to their driveways.
On N. Wilson, the contractor will begin lawn restoration work. Final paving will occur next paving session.
On Etowah this week, the contractor will be replacing the galvanized and lead water services on the block that have been identified.
On Hoffman, the contractor has completed curb replacement work. The roadway will be scheduled for milling once work on Blair progresses.
On S. Blair, concrete work continues this week, weather permitting. The contractor will be pouring the remaining driveway approaches and then begin concrete removals on the west side of the roadway.
Construction on these streets is scheduled to begin after the 4th of July holiday. The contractor may begin saw-cutting the concrete this week in preparation.
