2023 Construction Project Map available now!

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2306 Rochester Road

This week the contractor is continuing work removing pavement on the east side of the roadway heading north. Once complete the contractor will begin installing underdrain along the edge of the roadway and will begin construction the east side shoulders in areas where no water main work is planned.

Turn Restrictions and Closures:

Left turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic at 12 Mile Road, Girard Avenue and at 13 Mile Road during construction to avoid backups. Northbound Rochester Road will be completely closed between Gardenia Avenue and Dewey Street. Local access to the Oakview Cemetery and Rite Aid will remain open.

More information about the lane conversion can be found at: www.romi.gov/RochesterRoad

CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard:

This week the contractor will finish up the underground work on drainage structures and begin prep for concrete work, including curbing, gutter, sidewalk ramps and bump outs.

Normandy Road:

The full road closure is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of May 1st, and the contractor will begin underground water main installation between Crooks and Delemere. Intermittent closures may occur this week as the contractor delivers materials and equipment to the site.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

Lincoln Avenue:

The contractor will continue concrete work this week, replacing the sidewalk ramps. The road is closed to thru traffic, but access to businesses and residences will remain open. The contractor tentatively plans to mill the roadway surface the week of May 8th.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

The contractor is continuing work in the northwest area of the project limits, near Greenfield and 14 Mile.  The contractor is removing sections of pavement working their way south and east and will pour the new pavement later this week.

Work will only be performed on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents throughout construction. Only the worst sections of concrete pavement will be removed and replaced, not the entire roadway. If driveway access will be affected, residents will be notified the day beforehand via doorhanger.

The map below shows the project streets highlighted in BLUE.
