2023 Construction Project Map available now!

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2306 Rochester Road

Construction on Rochester Road begins this week. The contractor will install the traffic shift on Tuesday, with traffic shifted to the west side of the roadway. The contractor will begin saw-cutting the east side of the roadway in preparation to begin pavement removals next week.

Turn Restrictions and Closures:

Left turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic at 12 Mile Road, Girard Avenue and at 13 Mile Road during construction to avoid backups. Northbound Rochester Road will be completely closed between Gardenia Avenue and Dewey Street. Local access to the Oakview Cemetery and Rite Aid will remain open.

More information about the lane conversion can be found at: www.romi.gov/RochesterRoad

CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard:

This week the contractor will continue concrete work on Vinsetta, as well as begin some underground work to install additional drainage structures.

Normandy Road:

Intermittent closures of Normandy between Coolidge and Crooks will begin this week as the contractor mobilizes equipment and delivers materials for the road project. The full closure is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of May 1st, and the contractor will begin underground water main installation between Crooks and Delemere.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

Lincoln Avenue:

Construction begins on Lincoln Avenue this week, beginning with concrete work. The road is closed to thru traffic, but access to businesses and residences will remain open.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

The contractor has begun work in the northwest area of the project limits, near Greenfield and 14 Mile. The first neighborhood worked on will be between Normandy and 14 Mile, and between Greenfield and Cooper.

The contractor will begin saw-cutting the pavement sections to be removed, then begin removals late this week or beginning next week, depending on weather.

Work will only be performed on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents throughout construction. Only the worst sections of concrete pavement will be removed and replaced, not the entire roadway. If driveway access will be affected, residents will be notified the day beforehand via doorhanger.

The map below shows the project streets highlighted in BLUE.
