The Department of Public Services is closely monitoring the forecasted storm that is expected to impact our region beginning late Thursday night and is preparing response plans for several scenarios.
In addition to rain and snow, strong winds may result in drifting snow and/or downed tree limbs.
During and immediately following the primary snowfall, crews will prioritize clearing priority one streets which consist of major arterial roadways.
If snow accumulations have or are reasonably expected to exceed 4”, a snow emergency may be declared, requiring the clearing of all city streets, including neighborhoods. City ordinance prohibits on-street parking during declared snow emergencies, except for special permit holders. Vehicles parked in the street may be ticketed or towed. The parking prohibition allows for plows to proceed safely and unimpeded through neighborhoods and speeds the task of clearing the entire city – cooperation is appreciated!
