Aging in Place Plan Public Comment Ends Monday, Oct 31 at 5:00 PM
The Senior Services | Aging in Place Task Force is sharing the draft aging in place plan for public comment through 5:00 PM, Monday Oct. 31.
Over 12,000 Royal Oak residents are over the age of 60, so it is important for our neighbors to have the opportunity to age in our community if they would like to. The task force has worked over the past few years to develop a plan to help seniors age in place, access programs and services and be active in the community. The plan identifies goals and action steps in six different domains: outdoor spaces and buildings; transportation; information and communication; housing; community engagement and inclusion; health and community support services.
The community can participate in a few different ways:
- Online – You can find the plan online at romi.gov/agefriendly. There will also be a link available to share your comments on the plan with the task force.
- In person at the library or senior center. Hard copies are available at the reference desk in the library and in the senior center lounge at the senior center. Residents can provide their comments in writing or online.
