Reminder: Open House to Learn About Royal Oak ARPA Programs and Initiatives (October 5) Don’t forget to join us for our open house this Wednesday! The City of Royal Oak has been awarded approximately $28 million in ARPA funding through the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (H.R. 1319). The city intends to allocate this funding toward important, foundational quality of life projects like infrastructure and community programming. Before the city makes final decisions on how to use this money, we’ll be hosting an open house for all Royal Oak residents, businesses, and stakeholders to learn more about programs and initiatives that may be funded with ARPA money.
Please Join Us! Wednesday, October 5, 2022 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Royal Oak City Hall 203 S Troy St, Royal Oak, MI 48067
Note: You do not have to stay for the duration of the open house. You can come and go at a time that is convenient for you. If you are unable to attend the open house we invite you to take our ARPA survey so we can learn more about what is important to you and your ideas. Take Survey The deadline to take the survey is Friday, Oct. 7, 2022. The City of Royal Oak has identified seven key priority areas where they plan to invest approximately $28 million in ARPA money. Attendees at the open house will have the opportunity to learn more about each of these areas, and provide feedback on how they would like to see the money spent. The city will seek feedback on the following areas: - Investments in infrastructure
- Investments in public buildings
- Nonprofit funding to support community programming
- Premium pay for essential workers
- Affordable housing
- Business development support funding

Residential Lock Boxes Available at the Fire DepartmentThe Royal Oak Fire Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to get quick access to adults living in their own homes during medical emergencies -- especially senior citizens. When every second counts, the lockbox -- which contains a key to your home -- reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into your home in response to an emergency call.
