Deer Fence Project Update
White-tailed deer first started showing up in Tenhave Woods around 2005. For several years after that, they were still finding a lot of their food outside of the nature park. But In 2012, about a dozen deer found their way into Tenhave and ate many of the park’s wildflowers. To protect the park’s wildflowers, the Nature Society initiated some work projects designed to keep the deer out of the park. Every once in awhile, they find a way to get back into the park. We find out they got in, make repairs, open up the gates in the winter & when we are sure that they are no longer in the park. we close the gates.
