TOYS FOR TOTS
SNOW REMOVAL
Plans are underway for the 9th Annual Holiday Magic Parade! Slated for November 20, 2010, the parade brings holiday cheer to Downtown, including floats, marching bands, performances by local troupes and community groups and more! We will also be collecting toys along the parade route again this year for the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots Foundation.
The 2nd Annual Santa Scamper, presented by Oak Apple Fitness and Downtown Royal Oak will take place prior to the parade. It is a 1/2 mile fun-run, with proceeds benefitting Toys for Tots. Sign-up information coming soon!

Everyone Downtown knows about all of the amazing creative businesses that occupy every nook and cranny of our buildings. Check out this Metromode article as it seems others are taking notice as well...
Thanks to all of the businesses, parade goers and guests to the Live Broadcast of Magic Radio's Jim Harper Morning Show for donating over 1,800 toys to the Toys for Tots campaign.
This year, downtown partnered with Toys for Tots, asking guests to bring toys to the Holiday Magic Parade, to be collected along the parade route from Marines. Parade goers did just that and over 400 toys were collected at the parade.
In addition, over 20 downtown businesses placed bins in their stores to collect toys for the campaign as well. These toys were brought to the live broadcast and over 500 were collected with Memphis Smoke leading the way with 171 toys collected.
Finally, on December 3rd, the Magic morning show broadcasted live from the Royal Oak Music Theater. Local businesses, guests and donaters stopped by, brining over 1400 toys for the cause. Below is a clip of the Mayor talking to Jim Harper during the morning show:
