Arts, Beats and Eats is coming to Downtown Royal Oak Labor Day Weekend, September 3 – 6, 2010 bringing an anticipated 250,000 guests! Activities will include food sampling from top Royal Oak and Metro Detroit restaurants, 7 stages showcasing a variety of musical performances, over 150 artists, family activities and more. The event footprint will run along Washington Ave with the boundaries being Lafayette to the west, Sherman to the north, the railroad tracks to the east and Lincoln to the south. There will be 8 entrances to the event, which has a $3 admittance charge, a portion of which benefits local and regional charities. Additionally, parking in downtown will be $10 a day during the festival and the festival hours are Fri—Sun: 11am to 10pm and Mon: 11am to 8pm. AIDS Walk Detroit is Sunday, September 19, 2010 and begins at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market located on the corner of 11 Mile Rd. and Troy St. in downtown Royal Oak. Once you have registered there is plenty to do before the Walk starts: enjoy goodies provided by our corporate sponsors; view the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and take in all the excitement in the AIDS Walk Detroit event area.
